Workshops at AYC
Future Workshops in 2012 Details Soon!
Lisa Bracken
March 31 and April 1, 2012.
Saturday 12:00 pm-5:00 pm
Sunday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
After sustaining a broken back and facing a future with chronic pain, Lisa looked to the practice of yoga for assistance. While the physical practice is certainly credited with keeping her off the surgeon’s table, it’s within the contemplative aspects that she has truly found peace and freedom from pain of all varieties. A fascination with the ‘why and how’ our bodies move (or don’t move) lead her to pursue a Masters Degree in Kinesiology and instilled in her a sense of urgency to help others navigate their own journeys to freedom. A graduate of both the 200- and 500-hour VariYoga Teacher Training Program at AYC, she leads workshops, teaches yoga and meditation both at The Yoga Barn as well as at NSU/Tahlequah, and continues to explore the practice with a multitude of teachers. She recently attended the “Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors” program at Duke Integrative Medicine; an 8-day training designed specifically for teaching yoga to the elderly, chronically ill and special needs populations. When she’s not rolling around on the sticky mat, you’ll find her wrangling the daily operations at The Canebrake with her beloved husband Sam or napping in a warm, sunny spot with her three standard poodles, Gilda, Louie and Pema.
Early Bird Special purchase before March 15th, 2012 $110. After March 15th $125.
Single day price (Saturday or Sunday) $70.00
